Me?!

I am so pleased and honored to have been nominated for the Liebster Award by snipewife! I am sorry to be blogging about this award so late after receiving it. Thanks to a hot water heater leak, we’ve been completing some kitchen renovations this week and that somehow messed up our internet connection.

I really enjoy reading snipewife’s blog and have been following her since I started blogging. She has a fascinating life that is so different from my own. She’s married to a member of the U.S. Merchant Marine. I love that her posts are full of family and Maritime. Come to think of it, since “maritime” means things related to the sea… I guess we’ve got something in common after all.

Since I’m still new to the blog world, I’m not following all that many blogs yet, and quite a few I found through “Freshly Pressed” and they have more than 200 followers. And to be honest (maybe this is due to my lack of technological savvy or newness to WordPress), but I had some trouble figuring out how many followers some blogs had. So if I added a nominee who has more than 200 followers, please forgive me and know that it was accidental. I actually have a very eclectic assortment of blogs that I follow. I like to read about what is different from my experiences. And I like to learn new information from the blogs I read (I think I miss grad school).

For those of you who don’t know (and I didn’t until I received this award), “Liebster” is a word that means “dearest” in German. The Liebster Blog Award honors up and coming bloggers that have less than 200 followers. The goal of this award is to help spread the word about new blogs that are worth looking into.

The rules of the award are as follows:

1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who awarded you.
3. Reveal your top five blog picks, who fit within the award parameters.
4. Inform them that you have chosen them by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. My Funny Little Life (http://myfunnylittlelife.com/): I LOVE reading about her interesting life in Germany. She has great posts about food/eating. She’s been a good blogging friend.
2. Meandering the Maze (http://meanderingthemaze.wordpress.com/): Another mom (we’ve all got to stick together!), her blog is filled with great stories about her life and family.
3. Wishing Heart (http://wishingheart.wordpress.com/): I like that her posts have an air of humor about them. I love that she’s following her heart. And hey, as if this wasn’t enough, we’re both bookworms!
4. Spinning My Plates (http://spinningmyplates.wordpress.com/): Really cute theme. I admire someone who can pick a catch-phrase and word it throughout their whole blog. Plus she’s a mom and a grad student, two things I can identify with. Keep spinning!
5. Seeds of the Church (http://seedsofthechurch.wordpress.com/): I love to see people stand up (and write about) what they believe in. It’s wonderful to find a blog with such detailed information about the world of Christian persecution. Many devotional books are lengthy and hard for a mom-on-the-go to get through. With this blog it is easy to get a bite of information.

I hope my readers enjoy looking into the above mentioned blogs (including snipewife).  It’s great to give back to the blogging community and provide the opportunity for everyone to find something new to read.
